Consequence of an unserviced boiler

Recently called out to investigate a scorch mark on a boiler casing. On removal of the casing we found the electrode inspection glass broken which caused a mini fire within the boiler, burning the main components. This boiler had not been serviced since installation 13 years ago. Our customers were lucky to be on hand to quickly isolate the boiler. A new Worcester Bosch boiler with a 12 year guarantee has now been installed. This reiterates the importance of carrying out an annual boiler service which includes checking electrodes, seals, working pressures & analyser checks etc.

Provisional return date

Following advice from our governing body and as long as the Scottish government announce that Phase 2 has been introduced, we can return to work including works in non essential domestic property. Our planned start date will hopefully be from Friday 19th June.

We have put measures in place including policies (available on the website) enhanced hygiene, PPE which has been provided and we will be adhering to social distancing measures.
